The Real Estate Market exhibition is primarily about the city, which reflects mankind’s tendency to concentrate in cities. By 2050, seven out of ten people will be city dwellers. The topic of architecture today is treated in a variety of positions and media: painting, photography, performance, drawing, video, installation. When Michael Otto, with his paintings, sees the city as an organic mass, as a living being, this is his vision in which man is present – in this case in the form of a cosmonaut. Although one is painted and the other photographed, his works are consistent with Jeanne Fredac’s vision of Naples. She tells us about a city of living matter, where the organic and the inorganic merge in a unique chaos, history, past and present. In the second work presented, “Prost!”, Jeanne Fredac addresses the “dictatorship of white” and its consequences. In her presentation of the “25 Verde” architectural project in Turin, Sylvia Seelmann focuses on the supremacy of nature and sheds light on responsible architecture in times of climate change. Andrea Streit draws on the far-reaching plans for the redesign of Berlin’s Alexanderplatz, which is to be given a new face by high-rise residential and office buildings. In marginal notes, she asks who owns the new buildings and who will live in them. In her second artistic position, she deals with the topic of deconstruction.
